Introduction

Samcheok Sunrise Festival is one of the most popular winter festivals of Samcheok. The festival is held on New Year’s Day on Samcheok’s most famous driving road, Saecheonnyeon Coastal Road and the citizens and tourists all come together to look back on the past year and make wishes for the new year while awaiting the New Year’s sunrise that will warm their hearts and bodies.

    • Dawn Events: Samulnori, fireworks
    • Sunrise Events: New Year’s message, New Year’s greetings, sunrise gong performance, New Year’s wish writing, wish balloons
    • Events: Free snacks (rice cake sup, fish cake, coffee)
