Overview Hwanseon Cave is the largest limestone cave in Asia, formed around 530 million years ago. The cave has very well-developed stalactites, stalagmites and columns named “Beauty Rock”, “Turtle Rock” and “Pot Rock” for their looks. A total of 47 types of animals have been discovered inside Hwanseon Cave and among them, 4 types of animals including the “Hwanseon Blind Beetle (Kurasawatrechus latior) are known to be found only in Hwanseon Cave or to be native organisms of Hwanseon Cave.
